It looks like the Vancouver Real Estate Market is softening slightly. The demand of homes and condo's has slightly decreased with the supply of housing greatly increasing. We'refinally seeing more product hit the market and prices have held steady over the past month or two.

Vancouver Real Estate September Market Update
A blistering hot market in May and June seems to have cooled in July and especially in August. This cool down is typical for the summer months as most people are away on vacation and are enjoying the sunny weather. What happens in the next few weeks will be very interesting; will many of the hungry buyers that weren't able to find a home in the early summer be back, hungry for more? Time will tell.
On another note, the rental market has become the tightest in over a decade which points to the fact that many of these buyers are deciding to wait and see what potentially happens to the market over the next short while.
This is very good news for those buyers still keen on purchasing property and we're seeing high activity with new listings hitting the market since Labour Day, let's hope this continues into the fall.
Other news of note is the
Bank of Canada left its overnight rate unchanged. It met market expectations and held the policy rate steady at 4.25%.
The Bank forecasts that the economy will "operate at about its production potential" and that inflation, which was slightly higher than the Bank expected in July, is forecast as "returning to the two per cent inflation target in the second half of 2007".
